Learn Green Initiatives and Products

With our move, true to our mission, we wanted to seize the opportunity to make our future home sustainable. We realized that though I have been podcasting for 3 years about sustainability, we still did not know exactly how to make a home net-zero or carbon-positive. Thus far on this journey to make one, I have met architects, geothermal installers, builders, suppliers, and city government officials. I have had insightful conversations with most of them and some others – not so insightful. These conversations made me think of my listeners who would be in a similar position – wanting to learn how to build a sustainable house. This topic is of urgency as states like New York where their 2019-2023 Sustainability Plan states – “The Governor’s Green New Deal ramps up New York’s efforts with a goal to achieve 70% renewable energy by 2030 and 100% carbon-free electricity by 2040”. That means new homes built in NY state after 2030, would have to use green energy.

We plan to document our journey, choices and resources, and share it in a series of 10 episodes – Mindful Businesses – Our Sustainable Home. Our episodes will inform, entertain and inspire our listeners to build a sustainable home. Since Mindful Business is registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit it seeks to be the authentic source for such knowledge. This series will be a step-by-step guide to our listeners to help build a sustainable home.
